New Beastie in Grenths???
Was just doing a little wander in Grenths with a guildie when a lvl 28 giant ice wurm thingie popped out
Needless to say, we killed it, and it just so happened my necro mate had a sig on him and tried it out - lo and behold - Feast of Corruption!!!
As far as I can remember, the wurm didn't carry a boss name.
Is this new, a bug or just something random. If we'd thought, we'd have taken screenies.....

You sure he didnt have a name? Maw The Mountain Heart sometimes spawns in that area. He's the only boss (afaik) that has Feast of Corruption.

^^ True he is always find-able in Dreadnought's Drift, but he is also a random spawn all over Southern Shiverpeaks. I've actually run into him in Talus Chute on the way to the rare materials crafter. Not a pleasant experience when you're expecting a quick/easy run.

I'd say Ascalon>Great Northern Wall is a pretty easy run.

I dunno man. Those Ascalon Guards can be pretty tough. Talk about amazing body blockers..
Anyways, Ive never seen Maw pop up anywhere but DD. MAybe I'm just lucky .

A new wurm to kill? WooHoo. Can't wait to go track it and relieve it of its miserly life *grin*.

Actually, afaik he is everywhere in South Shiverpeaks, but can always be found in Dreadnought's.
He's rarely seen anywhere else though, but it happens.

Yeah I found him in Grenths once. I was heading out for the Granite Citadel, and he popped up about halfway between the War Camp and the exit to the next map.

Nope, he's always in DD, and you may find him in Grenth's if you look for him. Either way, it's a fun fight.

the fact that he is _only_ in DD has changed, and not his presence there. As for Grenth footprint - he _might_ spawn there.
Jeesh... take time to read game updates people.

Maw has been randomly spawning in other places long before the Factions preview event. During the March 2nd update, Anet fixed a bug where multiple copies of the same boss would spawn in the same map, which has nothing to do with Maw.

I captured Feast of Corruption in Snake's Dance. It was just west of the Grenth's zone, where you turn up the little pass to keep going north.

I think you reffering to something different. Im pretty sure that game update said that Maw will be now spawning all over south shiverpeaks and not only Dreadnough's Drift, and it was long after I capped my FoC in DD.

I think you are missing the point here. Unless my memory is totally hosed, this was a generic lvl 28 ice wurm with the necro glow. NO BOSS NAME

Like those unnamed Mursaat bosses out in Ice Floe?
Anyways, ironically I killed Maw today in his native Dreadnaughts Drift, to get FoC for some spike thingy with it a friend has been going on about.
I have seen him spawn in Lornar's during a droks run, but having been on/done about 20 and only finding him once, hes clearly not a certain spawn anywhere except DD.

It's a possibility, but seeing as my friend and I have never had occasion to fight an ice wurm before, I tend to go with my recollection of our chat that went along the lines of
Him "Ice wurm WTF!!!!???
Me ?????
